My guitar and drums duet with the secret chord changes and invisible rhythm section revealed for this play along. ATTACHED PDF for chord changes.

First of all, the original mix done by Steve Hunt is the OFFICIAL final mix on my album Fictional Characters. And it’s perfect. There’s nothing wrong with it at all. I’m doing this revision to reveal the chords underneath, and for the release of a play-along.

I revised the mix on this track titled “Let’s Cook” from my album. I added extra comping, cut the drum solo intro, attached the chord changes for you to follow. Check the companion video to this on YouTube for a PLAY ALONG version WITHOUT the guitar solo

How it was originally tracked:

I did this duet by first sketching out a cycle of non-diatonic chord changes. I then tracked key bass, and basic guitar chord comping along with a drum loop from the Drum Genius App.

I then tracked the guitar solo.

I sent the track with the rhythm section and guitar solo MINUS drums to drummer Archibald Ligonnière who tracked with that section and solo, leading into it with a brief drum solo in time.

When he was finished, I removed the rhythm section and left my solo and drums.

One version INCLUDES the scratch rhythm section with Archie and me. plus the original guitar solo.

The second version is the full rhythm section MINUS the guitar solo.
